Lorena and Dali

Legend has it that when the artist, Salvador Dali, arrived in Mexico, he promptly left. Why? He reportedly said that he did not ‘want to be in a country that was more SURREAL than his Art”…

And that precisely describes the reason ARTE exists, why we are here and staying. Presenting to you what is interesting, ethereal, earthy, and surprising about a place we call Home.

I’ve lived and worked around the world, but Mexico has captured my heart, soul, and my imagination. My goal as the Editor Creator of the El Arte Del Bienestar ezine is to present to you compelling stories, photos and videos so you too can fall in love.

PACHAMAMA MOTHER EARTH

I grew up with an appreciation of the land and nature.  Of course, as a youngster, I didn’t realize it at the time.  It was simply the way I grew up, living outside of the city.  So the natural environment was the playground for me and my pals.

There was a ‘Tarzan’ swing tied to a tree in the forest.  You’d grab hold of the big rope and sit on a knot and someone would shove you and off you’d fly over a big ravine.  Oh my!  Once was definitely enough for me…I preferred sled riding down a hill in winter and then, if we were lucky, someone might have set up a fire to roast marshmallows.  My family lived close to my maternal grandparents.  They had a small farm nearby where I’d hang out in the summer.  Mainly eating fruits like strawberries and blackberries.  In the autumn there were apples and pears.  My mother was a ‘stay at home mom’ who preserved vegetables and fruit to have available in the winter.

These memories came back to me recently with the current news about the food supply chain and the “cost of eggs.” Growing up, I used to collect eggs from their hen house, hoping I wouldn’t get pecked by one of the chickens. Now, as an adult, I realize that in today’s world, it really is a team that brings various necessary components to the chain of life, not just regarding food. The DREAM really requires a TEAM to make the world go ’round.

Coming Soon

The launch of MexXCHIC and FIFA will be in September

Those of you who follow my posts see a lot of nature photos.  Nature moves us from a congested mind into an open heart space.  So this Summer ezine features a 30 minute film instead of the Art Gallery of photos.  No ‘spoiler alert’ here just a request that you watch the whole film.  I promise it will be well worth your time.  As always and in service.  Hasta luego.
