Legend has it that when the artist, Salvador Dali, arrived in Mexico, he promptly left. Why? He reportedly said that he did not ‘want to be in a country that was more SURREAL than his Art”…
And that precisely describes the reason ARTE exists, why we are here and staying. Presenting to you what is interesting, ethereal, earthy, and surprising about a place we call Home.
I’ve lived and worked around the world, but Mexico has captured my heart, soul, and my imagination. My goal as the Editor Creator of the El Arte Del Bienestar ezine is to present to you compelling stories, photos and videos so you too can fall in love.

Normally our Winter ezine kicks off with a Christmas extravaganza. It’s my favorite holiday! Happy childhood memories of Santa, Rudolph, ‘visions of sugar plums ‘dancing in my head and stockings filled with goodies and presents. As an adult, Christmashas a greater significance. The greatest present was the birth of a child who would one day be known as the Christ and a Savior for All of humanity. Others clothed him in ‘religion’. However, what resonates with me is the message he brought to the world: Peace and Goodwill towards ALL. And that is the message we’re focused on for the upcoming and very important FIFA 2026 WORLD CUP Event. For the first time ever the games will be held in three different countries: Canada , the USA
and Mexico
in June and July.

@Lorena Be Any Star
Imagine the Ulama players, their hips wrapped in protective garb, launching a 4-kilogram ball skyward—a test of skill, endurance, and divine favor. Contrast this with today’s footballers, their feet weaving magic across emerald pitches, chasing a lighter ball that carries hopes of nations. Yet both games share a heartbeat: community, passion, and the thrill of spectacle. The stone tlachtli courts of old may have vanished, but their essence lives on in the colossal arches of Estadio Azteca, where history is written in every match.
In the heart of Mexico City stands Estadio Azteca — the only stadium to host two FIFA World Cup finals (1970 & 1986). Here, Pelé lifted Brazil’s third title, and Maradona etched history with the “Hand of God” and “Goal of the Century.”
Now, as the FIFA World Cup 2026 returns to Mexico alongside the U.S. and Canada, the Azteca will once again become the stage where nations unite and dreams ignite.
Beyond the stadium, Mexico’s magical towns and vibrant culture offer a celebration of color, history, and passion — a living reminder that football here is more than a game; it’s a way of life.
From past glory to a new era — the world returns to where football feels like home.
